Andrew Knight

Andrew brings-brings a background in rural sociology, policy, evaluation, and strategic planning to the Leave No Trace Canada Board.  Born and raised in New Brunswick, Andrew developed a passion for nature and the outdoors while living in Alberta in the 1990s.  At every opportunity, he explored the Rockies with a local hiking club.  After spending close to ten years in academia in the United States, Andrew decided to move back to the Maritimes, settling in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2008.  Since then, he has been focused on section hiking the Appalachian Trail from Vermont to Maine and exploring trails in the Northeast United States and Atlantic Canada.  He shares his passion for the outdoors through organizing hikes and serving as a Director on the Board of Hike Nova Scotia and Leave No Trace Canada.  When not out hiking, you might come across Andrew while cycling or trail running.
