Leave No Trace Canada
To promote and inspire responsible outdoor recreation through science-based education and partnerships throughout Canada.
Everyone enjoys the outdoors in a way that values and protects our environment now and for generations to come.
Here are a few milestones of Leave No Trace History
A small group of Canadian Leave No Trace Master Instructors meet to discuss the presence of Leave No Trace in Canada. This group, charged with the momentum of creating a Canadian branch, formed the Leave No Trace Canada Steering Committee.
A national support campaign was launched and resulted in a huge community push for the development of a Canadian branch of the organization. More than 50 letters of support were sent, and the founding organizations of Leave No Trace mobilized to see the project through. Mountain Equipment Company (MEC), Parks Canada, CPAWS, Aventure Écotourisme Québec, Vert l’action, Saskatchewan Parks and Ambassador Outdoor Education.
